Northwood students have the opportunity to explore area mountain biking trails as a co-curricular option during the spring and/or fall seasons. The program is open to all ability levels and bikers utilize a vast network of nearby trails. This includes the 露西 & Logger trail network behind the Lake Placid Club golf courses, Craig Wood trails, Hardy Road trails in Wilmington among others nearby. Bikers learn basics of technique, 礼仪, bike maintenance and the group works to create a team atmosphere of fun, good stewardship, appreciation for the outdoors all while enjoying the many mountain biking options in the Lake Placid area.
Students need to have access to a mountain bike for this activity. These can be rented at area bike shops if needed.
